Lorenzo Fertitta, one of the owners of the UFC and executive director of the organization, said he was disappointed with the statements made by Georges St Pierre, former welterweight champion of the event. In a recent interview, the Canadian athlete stated that the UFC's policy regarding anti-doping tests was one of the reasons for his temporary withdrawal from fights.

GSP considers that the current system needs changes, which does not happen because “some people, perhaps for fear of losing money, do not want to change anything”.

Fertitta promptly refuted the Canadian's statements and stated that the UFC is the MMA organization that fights doping the most. “It was extremely disappointing to hear Georges make these comments because I don’t think there is an organization that has been as supportive of drug testing as we have been. We not only agreed to pay when the commission said it needed more advanced tests, but we also encouraged it”, said the businessman, in an interview with the North American website Yahoo Sports.

“We have no problems with exams. When we play the role of committees, we test everyone on the card, so we are thorough. There is no way to claim that we are biased. We've always been open and would like to know how he feels about this. Maybe the people close to Georges didn’t explain to him in detail what we do”, concluded Fertitta.
