Ricardo 'Cachorrão' will be one of the judges for Barão and Aldo's fights at UFC 169

Herb Dean will be the referee for the bantamweight belt fight, while Keith Peterson will mediate the featherweight fight

The New Jersey State Athletic Commission revealed the names of the side judges for the main fights of UFC 169. At the event, which will be held on February 1st, there will be two title fights involving Brazilians: José Aldo defends the featherweight belt against Ricardo Lamas, and Renan Barao tries to remain as rooster champion against Urijah faber.

The highlight of the list is Brazilian Ricardo “Cachorrão” Almeida, former MMA fighter. The jiu-jitsu black belt will be featured in the main fights of the night alongside Cardo Urso and Eric Colon.

Cachorrão, 37 years old, has stints in PRIDE, Pancrase and UFC. In the last organization, he was close to competing for the middleweight title, at the time belonging to Anderson Silva. In the title shot fight, however, he was defeated by Patrick Côté in a split decision by the judges. In 2011, Cachorrão retired from MMA with a record of 13 wins and five losses.

As far as referees are concerned, Herb Dean will mediate Barão's fight, while Keith Peterson will handle Aldo's fight.
