In MMA, it is common for top athletes to participate in camps from other fighters, especially when there is affinity between them. The rivalry with the UFC women's bantamweight champion Ronda Rousey in common can be the starting point for the beginning of the partnership between Miesha Tate e Chris Cyborg. The suggestion came from Tito Ortiz, Hall of Fame of Ultimate and Brazilian businessman, through his profile on Twitter.
"Miesha Tate, we need you to help Chris Cyborg to prepare for his next fight. This will help you both,” Ortiz wrote on her profile on the microblogging network. A few hours later, Miesha was succinct in her response to the message, but assured her presence on the camp from Brazil. “Anytime,” said the former title challenger.
Last December 28th, Miesha Tate was defeated again by Ronda Rousey in a title fight, in the co-main fight of UFC 168. This time, however, Miesha at least managed to make the champion fight more than one round for the first time in her career. The outcome of the fight, however, was the same as always: an armbar submission for Ronda. Already Chris Cyborg, since her Strikeforce days, has been speculated as a possible opponent for Rousey, but a duel between the two never materialized.
