A few weeks ago, the duel between Gilbert Melendez and Khabib Nurmagomedov has been taken for granted for UFC 170. The information was initially released by the Russian website “MMA Boxing” and spread through the international press. This Sunday (29), however, the president of Ultimate Dana White denied that the duel had already been agreed, contradicting the Twitter from “UFC Tonight” – the organization’s official newspaper.

The newspaper's profile published the following message, confirming the fight: “It's official, Gilbert Melendez will fight against Khabib Nurmagomedov at UFC 170 in Las Vegas.” White then replicated the note and denied the information. “It’s not true, the fight is not confirmed”, published the director.
