It was the way no one expected, but Chris Weidman derrotou Anderson Silva for the second time and defended the middleweight belt at UFC 168, an event held tonight (28), in Las Vegas. After a first round with an advantage from the North American, the Brazilian began to loosen up the game in the second round. However, when he tried to land a low kick on his rival, Weidman defended himself with his knee and Anderson fractured his leg in a frightening way, leaving everyone present at the MGM Gran Arena perplexed.
The fight
Unlike the first fight, when Anderson entered the octagon relaxed, the Brazilian came focused and willing to retake the middleweight belt. With his guard up, the Brazilian spun around the octagon and waited for Weidman to take the initiative.
The champion, upon noticing the Brazilian's posture, sought the clinch and the athletes exchanged blows at close range. The moment Spider tried to throw a knee, he was caught with a right blow and ended up falling. Chris kept the fight on the ground for more than four minutes with several elbows and opened up the fight.
In the second round, the Brazilian loosened up and started working with kicks to the inside of Weidman's thigh. However, when the champion tried to defend himself, he placed his knee on the Brazilian's shin, which ended up breaking the bone.
“I wouldn’t want him to get hurt like that, but that’s part of the sport. Defending that shot is one of the things I had been working on in my training, but of course it wasn't my goal to break his leg. Now I want to relax a little, but of course the fight against Belfort will be a great fight – said Weidman after the fight, while Anderson Silva he left the octagon on a stretcher, going straight to the hospital”, said the champion.

He was the best, he did what he could, now he's going to retire, but that's it thanks Anderson Silva Spider! You are a champion!
anderson silva could fix winning but unfortunately that happened
You reaped what you sowed Anderson Silva, you had no humility and underestimated your opponent in the first fight, Chris Weidman on the contrary showed humility and revealed himself to be a true champion! Congratulations to Weidman for teaching everyone that with humility and persistence you can go far!
I THINK BELFORT WILL TAKE A SERIOUS RISK FIGHTING WEIDMAN.
IF HE LOST ANDERSON IMAGINE WHAT WEIDMAN WON'T DO TO HIM.
It was clear that Silva is not and has never been able to become a champion, this is because he always wanted to choose his opponents carefully, after all, it had to be someone who had a smaller stature and who did not offer any risk or who offered the least risk to become a champion. remain champion of a category that until then was made up of fighters without any expression, so Weidman entered the category to be the difference that the category needed to have a complete champion and who faces any fighter just like Fedor did in pride.
Andersom, you are the man, thanks, I'm rooting for you!!!

Anderso Silva, you will always be the great champion for us Brazilians, I am sorry for the fatality that occurred, I hope for your recovery and may God enlighten you on the journey of life.
If he hadn't played the “show-man” and had better respect for his opponent in the previous fight, the year would have ended very well for that Spider.
You will always be a champion for Brazil, I'm not just talking about the UFC, but rather because of the champion you became in life!!
A “Star” never loses its shine!
Once a “Champion always a Champion”!
"ANDERSON SILVA"
Anderson, have you ever heard of an herb called mastrus? and the doctor was surprised by the recovery; research about MASTRUS I have a doctor friend who is sure of the positive effect of the herb but research and talk to the elderly especially in the NORTHEAST I will be praying for your recovery and return soon to get YOUR BELT back, believe me in GOD in YOU and in MASTRUS; kisses from an admirer of your life story, don't give up GOD is with you.
Well, Anderson did what he could but he couldn't do it if he had listened to his son and I still say: father, do what you have to do. What he wanted to say was that he should stop, not take more risks than he could because his son was afraid of something happening to his father... Anderson was a good fight but I didn't wish you well, you will always be a champion. congratulations . I wish you health. If you can recover and start fighting, I will support you
Anderson Silva may God bless you and may you return soon
and you will always be our champion!!!!!!!!!!!
anderson no matter what happened you have already shown just entering the arena that you are the best we are always rooting for you go there spider……… you are a champion
