'It won't be a war of words', says Lawler about title fight against Hendricks

At 31 years old and with more than 12 years of experience in MMA, the veteran Robbie Lawler He doesn't have a loudmouth style. On March 15th, Lawler faces John hendricks for the vacant welterweight belt and does not believe that provocations will be necessary to promote the fight.

“He’s not very tall, but he’s big. He is a bully and knocks people out. I think it's very rare to have a fighter with so much power. This will not be a war of words. I'll have a chance to show what I'm capable of, and so will he. I just have to be myself and figure out a way to throw in some punches, kicks and knees,” said Lawler, in an interview with the “MMA Junkie” website.

The North American also used his victories over Josh koscheck, Bobby Voelker and Rory McDonald to justify his current condition, which he does not consider to be a stroke of luck. “I've been in this sport for a long time and I feel like I put myself in a position that this was going to happen and I was going to be fighting for a title. It's not like I won the lottery or anything. I earned my spot, beat some good guys, so I just waited for my opportunity,” he said.
