A relevant name in the lightweight division (up to 70,3kg) in MMA, Eddie Alvarez is leaving ONE Championship and 'expands' possible paths in his future. The American indicates that he could sign a return to the UFC at Bellator, places he has excelled in the past, to progress in the final phase of his career.

“The biggest names have made contact and we will have a meeting with all of them. I'll listen, but I want to listen to the fans too. I'm already at the end of my career, but yes (I would return to the UFC or Bellator). As long as there is a name involved in the organization, I will leave all possible options open,” said Alvarez in an interview with the program 'The MMA Hour'.

Eddie also says that there was a plan to fulfill his contract at ONE and then return to performing in the United States. The former champion, however, states that he was unable to continue due to the COVID-19 pandemic.

“The plan was to fight in Asia and return to the United States at the end of the contract so I could return here. The pandemic ended the plans, it was difficult. I want to sign my last contract and fight in the USA. I need to end my career here”, concluded the fighter.
