Since the Ultimate organization decided to publish and update its athlete rankings weekly, with the top ten names in each category and their respective champions, the name of Georges St Pierre always appeared on the list – also always among the three best athletes weight for weight. This week, however, after the announcement of the Canadian's indefinite retirement, which even gave up his belt, the UFC released its ranking for the first time without GSP.

The big news, prompted by the departure of a former welterweight champion, was the inclusion of Ronda Rousey No. top-10 weight for weight. The women's bantamweight belt holder became the first woman to appear on the organization's general list. Those who also benefited from GSP's absence were José Aldo, the Brazilian gained a position in the weight-for-weight ranking and is now in second place, behind only the leader Jon Jones. Former middleweight champion, Anderson Silva went on to occupy third place.

St. Pierre's withdrawal also created a curious scenario, to say the least, in the 77 kg division. John hendricks, GSP's last challenger and who is competing for the category's vacant belt against Robbie Lawler in March, it occupies the position of number zero. Soon after Hendricks, appears Carlos Condit, who is followed by Lawler – the only one to gain two positions in the most recent update. The other athletes rose one place each, precisely the one left by the former champion.

Fatal change? Makhachev ignores warning and could end tragically at welterweight!
