Joe lauzon hopes to redeem himself next Saturday (14), when he will face Mac Danzig at UFC on Fox 9, in Sacramento (United States). The North American is coming off two consecutive defeats in the UFC, the last one against Michael Johnson, still makes him uncomfortable.

On August 17, fighting in Boston, his hometown, “J-Lau” was dominated by Johnson, losing all three rounds of the contest according to the judges' scores. The fighter believes that such a performance does not do justice to his career. “I'm completely embarrassed how that fight developed. I don't want anyone to think about that fight when they're thinking about me. That was very out of the ordinary compared to the way I normally fight,” he said, in an interview with the North American website MMA Fighting.

However, Lauzon stated that the fact of coming from two consecutive defeats does not increase his responsibility for a good result next Saturday. “Every fight I feel pressured. I don't think fighting after two defeats will kill me. The fight with Jim Miller [his penultimate opponent] wasn’t terrible – of course, it sucks to lose, but it was still a great fight,” commented Lauzon, who has already received an incredible 12 UFC awards for best fight of the night, best submission or knockout.

Their opponent this Saturday is also coming off two consecutive defeats. Still, Lauzou doesn't believe Danzig will fight too cautiously. “I expect him to be aggressive. Sometimes he plays it very safe, but I think we will see an aggressive Mac Danzig, coming forward”, he opined.
