Day after day, the president of Ultimate Dana White has been proving his words of support and confidence to the participants of the first edition of the The Ultimate Fighter, which he said he would be with until the end. Even with two losses in his last three fights, and a contested victory over Takanori Gomi, the lightweight Diego Sanchez had his contract renewed by the UFC for another eight fights.

The information about Sanchez's renewal was released by the “UFC Tonight” program, the organization's official newspaper on TV in the United States. Diego “Dream” Sanchez, who is coming off a defeat to Gilbert Melendez, was the champion of the middleweight tournament in the first TUF, beating Kenney Florian – now an Ultimate commentator – in the big decision. Since then, the former “Nightmare” has gone through different weight categories and even competed for the lightweight belt against BJ Penn. Due to his aggressive style and preference for frank striking, the North American was awarded the “Fight of the Night” bonus seven times.

PUBLICITY:

At 31, Diego Sanchez has a record of 24 wins and six losses. Even in the midst of a private war against featherweight Connor McGregor, Irish Ultimate fighter, through statements and messages on social media, the TUF 1 champion has other plans for his next fight. Also according to “UFC Tonight”, Sanchez would like to face Joe lauzon, if he beats Mac Danzig at UFC on FOX 9, this Saturday (14).
