Urijah faber bet on experience to get the better of the fight against Michael McDonald at UFC on Fox 9, next Saturday (14). The veteran, looking for his thirtieth victory as a professional, will face one of the youngest athletes in the event.
At 34 years old, Faber is 12 years older than his opponent. The Alpha Male athlete believes that this difference in background will be a determining factor in the fight. “I think experience is definitely on my side. I'm not saying he's mentally weak, but I know how strong I am mentally. And I think that's what a fight is about. The more I depend on the person’s willpower, the greater my advantage”, said Faber, in an interview with the North American website Sherdog.
However, Faber said he was not underestimating McDonald, recognizing his strengths. “McDonald is tough, very tough, dangerous. These are the words that describe him. He has a lot of strength and precision in his hands. I’m aware of that and I’m one of the toughest guys in the division, so I’m looking forward to a great fight.”
The main fight of UFC on Fox 9 will be a title fight in the flyweight division, between Demetrious Johnson e Joseph Benavidez.
