Hunt reveals he is expected to be out for six months with a hand injury

Mark Hunt believes he will have to stay out of fights for at least six months due to injuries suffered to his left hand during the main fight of UFC Fight Night 33, last weekend, against Antonio Pezão.

After the historic fight in Brisbane (Australia), which resulted in a draw, Hunt had to have screws inserted, which should leave him out in the first half of 2014. “The doctor said it will be six months before I can hit something again. I have like 12 screws in my hand”, said the New Zealander, in an interview with the North American program MMA Hour, on the MMA Fighting website.

Precisely because of the disposition shown by the two fighters, Hunt said he was not bothered by the draw. “I think we both tried our best and did really well. I don’t care if it was a draw”, considered the K1 champion. “We both had good moments in the fight, so it doesn’t matter. Pezão hit me, I hit him, so the draw wasn't bad at all. I think it was a good decision,” he assessed.
