Karo Parisyan caught in drug test

The Armenian Karo Parisyan was caught in the anti-doping test carried out by the Nevada State Athletic Commission after UFC-94. On that occasion, Parisyan defeated Korean Dong Hyun Kim by split decision on January 31st.

Athletic Commission executive director Keith Kizer confirmed that the fighter tested positive for the banned substances hydrocodone, hydromorphone and oxymorphone.

Parisyan, who suffers from panic syndrome, claimed that such substances are contained in prescription medications for the illness and were listed to the Athletic Commission in advance.

PUBLICITY:

If convicted, the Armenian could be suspended for up to 12 months, in addition to paying a fine to be stipulated by the Athletic Commission.
