Josh thomson believes that Benson Henderson will represent a tougher fight than it would be against the lightweight champion, Anthony Pettis.

Thomson, who was preparing to fight for the category belt, saw his rival withdraw from the fight due to a knee injury. Thus, “The Punk” was scheduled to face Henderson, who lost his title to Pettis.

In an interview with the North American website Bloody Elbow, Thomson stated that Henderson's way of fighting seems more challenging to him. “To me, style-wise, Benson is a bigger threat than Pettis,” he opined.

“Benson is very complete. Honestly, when it comes to fighting, it's like I'm looking at myself in a mirror, with the difference that he's left-handed. It offers everything – grappling, wrestling, clinches, takedowns. It will be a tough fight. At any moment, the pace of the fight can change,” said the American.

“With Pettis, you know he's going to try to keep the fight fighting all the time. He won't try anything else. Gil [Gilbert Melendez] is more or less the same way,” he compared.

The fight between Thomson and Henderson will take place on January 25, 2014, in the main event of UFC on Fox 10, which will also feature a confrontation between Gabriel Napao e Stipe Miocic.
