Just over a week after one of the most controversial fights in recent UFC history, John hendricks declared that he had left the fight against Georges St Pierre in order to focus on your future.

On November 16, GSP retained his welterweight belt by beating the American in a controversial split decision from the judges. In the week following the event, Hendricks made several statements claiming to have been the real winner. However, this Monday (25), in an interview with the North American program MMA Hour, “Bigg Rigg” stated that, for him, the controversy is already part of the past.

PUBLICITY:

"Wants to know? I've already left that behind. I'm looking forward to the future and this is what I can do right now. I know I will face him again if he doesn't retire, and next time I will make sure the fight doesn't go to the judges' decision. I shook him in the second round and next time I will make sure to finish him off,” argued Hendricks.

In the second round of the fight, while GSP was still stunned, referee Mário Yamasaki stopped the fight to replace Hendricks' mouthguard, which allowed the Canadian some more time to recover. However, despite having missed the opportunity for a knockout, the challenger praised the Brazilian referee's attitude.

PUBLICITY:

“My guard fell off while I was attacking, but what if GSP landed a punch and I broke a tooth? There are a lot of things that can happen to a fighter without a protector. It was my fault for not keeping the protector in my mouth”, he concluded.
