The fight

In his first fight as a super lightweight, Joilton – who had liver problems to make weight in the lightweight division – showed that he seems to have found his category. As soon as the fight began, he took command of the actions. Grabinski tried to exchange blows with the Brazilian, but to no avail. Peregrino opened the way to victory with a beautiful flying knee. From there, he combined good crosses that took down Marcel. With several punches on the ground, the referee was forced to stop the fight less than two minutes into the fight.

More Brazil in BRAVE 61

Despite Joilton Lutterbach Peregrino's victory, BRAVE 61 will not bring good memories for the other Brazilian fighters on the show, as the country's other two representatives left the fighting area with defeat. In the welterweight division, Kleverson Cruz was knocked out by the tough Islam Dulatov in the first round. Jose Marcos Santiago Lima, known as 'Maju', was unable to withstand Husein Kadimagomaev's takedown game and was defeated by the judges' unanimous decision.
