The PFL light heavyweight title (up to 93 kg) will not remain in Brazil. The only Brazilian in the semifinals of this year's tournament, Delan Monte was knocked out by Rob Wilkinson in the opening of the main card of the PFL 7 2022 and said goodbye to the competition. The Thai Evolution athlete got off to a good start and managed to shake the Australian, but couldn't resist a series of blows from his rival, who ended up with a knockout through a knee in the first round.

Undefeated in the PFL, Rob Wilkinson reaches the final of the light heavyweight tournament in his first season in the organization. With the knockout over Delan Monte, the Australian recorded the fifth consecutive victory in his career and has not lost since February 2018, when he was defeated by Israel adesanya still in the UFC.

Ranked fourth in the regular season, Delan Monte was unable to follow up on the good victory he achieved over Emiliano Sordi in June. The Brazilian now has one triumph and two setbacks in the PFL decagon.

THE FIGHT

Rob Wilkinson started the fight working combinations with his fists, while Delan Monte seemed to be looking for a defining blow. Still in the first minute of the fight, the Brazilian managed to connect with a good straight right that shook the Australian. Sensing the good moment, Delan went all out, but ended up being taken down by Wilkinson. The Brazilian got up quickly and managed to separate himself from his rival's grip. Delan Monte connected with another good right blow, followed by a left cross, but Wilkinson absorbed it well. The Australian then responded with a devastating sequence, ending with a brutal knee that took the Brazilian to the canvas and declared the end of the fight.
