Even with Dana White's recent refusal to sign Ben Askren, the former Bellator welterweight champion does not seem to have given up on his dream of fighting in the biggest MMA organization on the planet. In an interview with the “MMA Fighting” website, Askren revealed that his manager has a meeting scheduled with Ultimate's top management in the next few days to try to arrange his trip to the event.

“I don't take it (White's statements) personally, it's business. My agent is hoping to go to Las Vegas to meet with Lorenzo (Fertitta) and Dana this week. Once that happens, I’ll have a better idea about everything,” said Askren.

Last week, Ben Askren was officially released by Bellator to sign with any MMA organization. The former welterweight champion was immediately linked to a possible move to the UFC. Ultimate president Dana White, however, denied that he had any interest in signing Askren to his roster of fighters.
