Far from the prestige of Ultimate, Thiago Marreta e Vincent Luque have been opponents on the national stage. Great Tupiniquin representatives today, the athletes measured up in 2012, still at the Spartan MMA, in Maranhão. On that occasion, the Brasilia native scored a knockout in the first round, in less than two minutes.
After the victory, Luque had five more fights in his career – with three triumphs and two setbacks – before being selected to participate in the 21st season of 'The Ultimate Fighter', when he stopped in the semifinals and, even so, managed to get a place in the organization, where he has worked since 2015.

Marreta, at the same moment, had lost for the first time in his career against Vicente. The Rio native still had one more fight before entering the 'The Ultimate Fighter Brazil 2', when he competed in the welterweight division and stopped in the quarterfinals. He was hired and has competed in the franchise since 2013.
Now in different weight categories and around 16kg. difference, the two athletes represent Brazil in the main fights of the UFC Las Vegas 59, an event that takes place this Saturday (6). Sledgehammer measures strength in front of Jamahal hill, while Luque duels against Geoff neal.
