Without winning for eight fights in Ultimate, the middleweight (up to 83,9kg) will try, once again, to interrupt his unusual sequence of results in the UFC. UFC Las Vegas 59. In a press conference before the show, which takes place next Saturday (06), the North American explained the reasons why he has not yet been fired by the organization and promised to knock out Michał Oleksiejczuk to break the uncomfortable fast.

“The internet always goes crazy when I don't get hacked. Normally, it's the Tuesday after they release the list of who got cut, and I was hoping to be on that list after my last fight. I didn't get (cut) and the internet went crazy. Two and a half weeks later, Mick Maynard (in charge of matchmaking) called me and said, 'Sam, you've had a run of bad luck, you've got some good fights and we appreciate everything you've done for the company. There are a lot of fighters who arrive during fight week and get a little angry, you've never been like that. Because of this, we will let you fulfill your contract.' I have one fight left on my contract and they let me fight because of several short notice fights and bad decisions,” said Alvey.

The North American also talked about the negotiations for the match and promised to knock out his rival next Saturday.

“When I was called for this fight, they gave me the wrong opponent's name, they said it was the Misha Cirkunov. I said ok, that was a great fight. I got a call ten minutes later and they let me know they messed up and I would fight with Michal Oleksiejczuk. I googled him, because I've never heard of him and he has some good performances in the UFC. He is a very talented fighter and I know they want foreign fighters to win and on paper I should be an easy fight you can find. I'm going to knock him out at four minutes and 45 seconds of the first round”, said Alvey.

Alvey's last career victory came in June 2018, when he beat Gian Villante in the judges' split decision. Since then, the middleweight has had seven victories and one no contest (fight without result) and has never had his hand raised after a fight again. Sam has a record of 33 triumphs, 17 setbacks and one draw on his record.
