Known for revealing new talents to the UFC, the 'Contender Series' had a gala performance in its latest edition, which took place last Tuesday (2). In a flyweight fight (up to 56,7kg), Brazilian Vinícius Salvador signed a contract with the organization after significantly knocking out the Australian Shannon Ross in the second round. The outcome made president Dana White get up from his chair next to the cage.

In combat, Salvador 'emulated' the style of Anderson Silva. With his guard down, dodging and punching in a defensive position on the fence, the Brazilian came to swing in the octagon, but managed a knockout after a counterattack, which made Ross fall.

"Oh my God! This boy arrived as an underdog. It was an unbelievable first round, as he dropped bombs. Both resisted a lot. He has 100% of his fights finished via the fast track. And one of your characteristics is durability. Does not give up. This boy has it. You’re in the UFC, Vinícius,” said Dana when announcing the Brazilian’s signing.

Professional since 2014, Vinícius Salvador has a record of 14 wins and four losses in his career in MMA. The 'Phenomenon', as he is known, had stints at Shooto and Max Fight, before having the opportunity on the Contender Series.
