A dramatic episode marked the 54th edition of the MMA Series, held in Moscow, last Saturday (30). In a fight held in the welterweight division, Igor Konstantinov ended up breaking his own arm when trying to submit Vasily Rudenko with a 'buggy choke', an unusual outcome in mixed martial arts combats. After forcing the position, the athlete suffered a fracture and the clash was ended, declaring a technical knockout.
In the images, released by the profile '@ChillemDafoe', on Twitter (see below), it is possible to see Igor's initial attack. Upon realizing that the arm had broken, the athlete leaves the position until the referee notices the situation and stops the fight.
With the victory by technical knockout, via medical interruption, Rudenko showed sportsmanship and did not celebrate. Instead of celebrating, the fighter walked around the cage and even brought his hands to his face, as if regretting his rival's condition.
A professional in MMA since 2016, Konstantinov has not charted a successful trajectory in the sport. In addition to the serious injury, the fighter reached the mark of five defeats in seven appearances in the sport.
Without blame for the tragic outcome for Igor, Vasily expanded the good moment in mixed martial arts. Now, the athlete has reached five triumphs in the sport, without ever having tasted a negative result.
