Considered the best welterweight fighter outside the UFC, Ben Askren made an emphatic challenge to Rory McDonald. The American, former Bellator champion, said he didn't like the Canadian's personality and showed interest in facing him in the future.

“I said I would fight for free against Georges St Pierre if I lost. I lose, you don't have to pay me. But now, it would be with MacDonald. That guy bothers me. So, here goes: if I lose, I wouldn't need to be paid and I would retire from MMA forever”, said the wrestler, in an interview with the MMA FIighting website.

Askren changed the focus of his challenge after last Saturday's fight, when GSP won John hendricks following a controversial decision by the judges. The American, who saw the challenger's victory, believes that a rematch should be held.

“I think everyone has the same position, except for two people [the referees who gave GSP the victory]. I think it was pretty clear that rounds 1, 2 and 4 were Hendricks. He was getting the better of striking and wrestling. I think all the rounds were very clear and that's why I would score 48 x 47 Hendricks”, he said.
