In addition to defending his welterweight title for the ninth time, against John hendricks, Georges St Pierre had yet another reason to celebrate at UFC 167, held last Saturday in Las Vegas (United States).
According to the list released by the Nevada Athletic Commission, the Canadian was the highest paid fighter at the event, receiving US$400 to step into the Octagon. The challenger, defeated in a controversial decision by the judges, won US$50 in the most important fight of his career – an amount eight times smaller.
Another highlight of the list was the co-main event, between Rashad evans e Chael Sonnen. Winning the fight in the first round, the former light heavyweight champion pocketed US$250 (US$125 for the fight, US$125 for the victory), while the future TUF Brasil 3 coach received US$100 thousand.
Yes, Thales leites, the only Brazilian to participate in the event, received US$20, with US$10 referring to the victory bonus. Despite dominating his opponent, Ed Herman, the Nova União athlete profited half the amount of the American.
