Pantoja's show at UFC 277 makes Dana consider Brazilian as a backup for Deiveson x Moreno

Flyweight's standout performance against Alex Perez impresses Ultimate's president, who doesn't rule out athlete in 'Plan B'

Featured in UFC 277, held this Saturday (30), in Dallas (USA), Alexandre pantoja performed against Alex Perez recognized by Dana White. In a press conference after the event, the president welcomes the possibility of the Brazilian being a reserve in an eventual quadrilogy between the flyweight champions (up to 56,7kg.) Deiveson Figueiredo (linear) and Brandon Moreno (interim).

"It's a great idea. I like this possibility,” admitted White.

Fourth placed in the flyweight division, Pantoja has already shared the octagon with both the lineal champion and the main champion. Against Deiveson, Alexandre ended up overcoming in a confrontation held in 2019. Against the Mexican, however, the Tupiniquim accumulated two positive results.

No UFC 277, Pantoja returned to the octagon after almost a year of inactivity. Against Alex Perez, the Brazilian had a gala performance, overcoming his rival with a submission just over a minute into the match.

After the positive result, the athlete did not hide his excitement. In an interview moments after the victory, the fighter even demanded a title fight.
