Lyoto Machida wins Thiago Silva by knockout
With a show Lyoto Machida e Georges St Pierre, recently ended in Las Vegas, UFC-94. Favorites on the betting exchanges, Machida and GSP didn't give their opponents a chance and went through with plenty of Thiago Silva e B.J. Penn, respectively, driving the 14 present at the MGM Grand Garden Arena into delirium.
Thiago tavares vs. Manny Gamburyan
First Brazilian to step into the octagon, Thiago tavares managed to recover from two consecutive defeats in Ultimate and won Manny gamburyan. In the first round, the black belt went after his opponent's legs and with a double leg he took the fight to the ground, where he punished the American with ground and pound. In the second round, Gamburyan threatened a reaction, but the Brazilian dominated the actions again and gained the advantage. In the third round, the fight remained standing the entire time and, feeling comfortable, Thiaguinho managed and won the unanimous decision of the judges.
Lyoto Machida vs. Thiago Silva
In the expected duel between Brazilians, better for the karateka Lyoto Machida, who from the beginning of the fight dominated the actions in the octagon, taking Thiago Silva to two knockdowns at the beginning of the fight. In the last seconds of the first round, after applying a takedown in the clinch, Lyoto unleashed a strong straight shot, which knocked out the São Paulo native in the final second of the round.
Georges St Pierre vs. B.J. Penn
Exuding physical fitness, Georges St Pierre gave no respite to B.J. Penn, punishing the Hawaiian for four rounds. Better at striking, the Canadian took down BJ in practically every attempt and punished his opponent with strong ground and pound.
