Although he no longer occupies the absolute top spot in the bantamweight division, Nunes guarantees that the stumble against Peña could have been beneficial for the continuation of his career in mixed martial arts. According to the Bahian, the Venezuelan provided the old desire to win.

“I’m going to get the title back. Losing the throne is not something that makes me feel down or sad. It just motivated me and lit a flame. I always needed that, that kind of encouragement. What Julianna brought was the challenge I needed. For a long time, I was without challenges. Now, finally, I'm in the position I like. I like feeling trapped. These are the moments I cherish most,” she concluded.
