With the denials from Bellator and World Series of Fighting in accepting Rousimar “Toquinho” Palhares after his dismissal by the UFC, the future looked complicated for the Brazilian. However, when it seemed that the doors were closed to Toquinho, the WSOF management was willing to reconsider its position. In an interview with the “MMA Junkie” website, the organization’s president Ray Sefo spoke about the possibility of making a deal with Rousimar.

“Initially, I must admit that I didn’t think it would please the World Series of Fighting the idea of bringing Palhares on board. But I've talked to our team, as well as some people I trust in the (fight) industry, and I'm not so sure he doesn't deserve another chance. We haven't made any concrete decisions yet, but I think Palhares could be a valuable part of our organization,” said Sefo.

The manager also defended the Brazilian in the final episode about Mike Pierce that culminated in his dismissal, and stated that Renzo Gracie's comments about what happened helped him form his opinion. “I was a little outraged at first, as were a lot of people. But I think Renzo explained it very well and opened my eyes. I don't think Palhares is a bad human being and his abilities as a fighter are undeniable. He's not a bad person or a dirty fighter, he's not trying to hurt people. I’m starting to think he could be a good addition to our squad,” he concluded.
