Pivot of a true anticlimax in the main fight of the UFC London, held last Saturday (23), Tom aspinall recorded a meeting with Curtis blaydes, complete with beer. Victim of a knee injury, which determined the 'bitter' outcome after just 15 seconds of the fight, the Englishman showed sportsmanship and praised his opponent, responsible for his first defeat with Ultimate gloves.

“A beer improves any situation. What an athlete, Curtis and his team stopped by to say 'hi'. Accidents happen, unfortunately. Today was not my night,” wrote Aspinall, in his account on Instagram.

A promising heavyweight (up to 120,2kg), Tom stepped into the Octagon ready to expand his great career in the company and advance towards his dream of a title fight. The Englishman, however, did not have time to impose his strategy, as he ended up suffering a knee injury in the opening seconds of the fight.

With the defeat, Aspinall momentarily moves away from his plan to become a challenger for the title of Francis Ngannou. The athlete also had a streak of eight consecutive victories ended.

Despite not achieving the triumph in the expected way, Blaydes has reason to celebrate. The triumph against the Englishman, at 'the opponent's home', represented the North American's third consecutive positive result.
