Right after defeating Jordan Leavitt No. UFC London, last Saturday (23), Paddy Pimblett was moved when he revealed that a good friend committed suicide hours before the event's official weigh-in, last Friday (22). Still in the Octagon, the British lightweight sensation (up to 70,3 kg) spoke about the need for men to talk about their problems and take care of their mental health.

At the press conference held shortly after the event, Paddy Pimblett spoke again about this important subject.

“Like I say, women talk to each other all the time. There is no stigma. They sit anywhere, drink tea and talk. Men don't do that. Men think they can't say certain things because other men will think they are weak. Like I said, I would rather have my friend come and talk to me, cry on my shoulder, than have me cry carrying a coffin a week later. Decisions made in split seconds ruin lives and that's what happened this week”, lamented Pimblett.

Paddy Pimblett He also pointed out the need for influential people to take a stand on the issue and help others. The fighter revealed that he intends to start a social project related to men's mental health and criticized the British government for not allocating any funds to this issue.

PUBLICITY:

“As I say, people in the same position as me, people who have the spotlight, who have followers, should help others. Everyone in a position like mine should try to help someone. Be it a stranger on the streets or your friend. You should help and try to give back. Without all these fans, without the people who love us, we wouldn't get paid. I just like giving back. I'm starting a project for children, but now I'm also thinking about starting a project related to men's mental health. The UK does not have any funds earmarked for this. There is no fund for men's mental health. It's the biggest cause of death among men aged 21 to 45 and nobody talks about it. Nobody even mentions it. Men kill each other and no one cares. We need to change this”, he concluded.
