Tom Aspinall suffers knee injury and is defeated by Curtis Blaydes at UFC London

English frustration at the end of the UFC London. Fighting in front of his home crowd, the local prospect Tom aspinall was defeated by Curtis blaydes after suffering a knee injury just 15 seconds into the fight at the O2 Arena. Out of respect for his rival, the North American did not celebrate effusively. The show took place on Saturday afternoon (23).

Number four of the heavyweights, Curtis blaydes continues its good phase by winning its third consecutive victory in the organization. The American is getting closer to a possible title fight and now has a record of 16 triumphs and three setbacks in the sport.

Considered the biggest prospect in the division today, Aspinall suffered his first defeat in Ultimate after five fights and sees his future, at least in the short term, becoming a big 'question mark'. The English athlete now has 12 triumphs and three setbacks as a mixed martial arts professional.

The fight

Aspinall started trying to explode at Blaydes, but the American responded with a direct shot to the Englishman's face. Soon after, Tom landed a kick to Blaydes' waistline, but when he put his foot on the ground, he felt an injury and was unable to continue in the confrontation. Referee Herb Dean ended the duel upon realizing the seriousness of the situation.
