Sergio Pettis, who will make his UFC debut next Saturday, does not believe that comparisons with his older brother, Anthony, lightweight champion, will hinder him. Scheduled to face Will Campuzano at UFC 167, which will be held in Las Vegas (United States), the 20-year-old bantamweight stated that he has a style as aggressive as his brother's, but that both are fighters with different characteristics. .

“People expect me to do all the crazy things Anthony does. This puts a little pressure on me, but we are different fighters”, said Sergio, who is undefeated after nine MMA fights. “Overall, we are different people. If I don't live up to expectations, I'll still be a good prospect at my weight. I will entertain the public and I will try to finish the fight”, he added.

Originally, Pettis was scheduled to face Vaughan Lee next Saturday. However, the Englishman, injured, left the card last week. Even admitting he was disappointed with the trade, Pettis doesn't believe it will cause him any problems.

“I was upset. Just 11 days before my fight, I get the call saying he got hurt. Injuries happen all the time in this sport, and that sucks”, lamented the American. “I had a plan to fight, and my opponent got hurt. Now, I have another opponent, so I have to react to what that person does while being confident in myself and my training. I’m one of the hardest working guys, so I think I’ll be one of the best in the world.”

Despite the upset, Sergio was happy to stay at the event that will mark a historic moment for the UFC, as it celebrates the 20th anniversary of the first edition of the attraction. “At least they found another opponent right away, and that made me feel a lot better. I didn't want to be removed from this card, as it's one of the biggest cards of the year. It's very exciting to fight in the same event as Georges St Pierre, who is one of the guys I admire most.”

The main fight of UFC 167 will be a welterweight title fight between St. Pierre and John hendricks.
