First Brazilian to climb the circular cage in Bellator 283, Vanessa Porto was unsuccessful at the event held this Friday (22), in Tacoma (USA). The São Paulo native had a balanced confrontation with Veta Arteaga, but ended up making a mistake, trying to get into a takedown and neglecting her neck. Aware of the Tupiniquim's slip-up, the North American took advantage, used a guillotine choke and forced her opponent to give up in the second round.

With the result, Porto loses the opportunity to reach the top 5 in flyweight (up to 56,7kg). Current number seven in the ranking, the Brazilian also failed to achieve her second consecutive victory in the organization.

Victorious in the clash, Arteaga has plenty of reasons to celebrate. In addition to defending fifth place in the group, the American is once again dreaming of a future title fight.

The fight

The confrontation began with Porto hitting its rival with a clean right to the face in the opening seconds. Veta responded with a combination of punches and kicks. The Brazilian had the distance advantage and controlled the actions. After an attempted high kick, Porto ended up being blocked and taken down by his rival. The São Paulo native managed to get up and move away from her opponent. Halfway through the stage, the Brazilian risked a fall, but Arteaga defended herself well. Famous for his knockout power, Romero Cotton tasted his 'own medicine' in Bellator 283. In the meeting of middleweight prospects (up to 83,9kg), the athlete got the worst of the fight against Dalton Rosta. The clash between undefeated players ended brutally for Cotton, who fell victim to his opponent in the opening seconds of the last round.

With the defeat, Cotton should lose seventh place in the ranking led by Johnny Eblen. The athlete now momentarily says goodbye to his dream of competing for the title, in addition to losing his unbeaten record in his career.

A candidate to face the champion in the near future, Rosta has proven to be a name to watch closely for MMA fans. The hit on Romero marked the seventh consecutive victory for the fighter, who doesn't know what it's like to lose as a professional in mixed martial arts.

After seeing his team win its first in the Bellator 283, The Coach Khabib Nurmagomedov had another triumph on the preliminary card. Student of the Russian legend, Gadzhi Rabadanov had a dominant performance and overcame Bobby King in 15 minutes of the match. After three rounds of ground control, the Russian was declared the winner in a unanimous decision by the judges.

The new positive result meant that Rabadanov defended his ninth position in the lightweight category (up to 70,3kg). The fighter also reached the mark of three triumphs in the organization.

Annulled by Gadzhi, King momentarily strayed from his dream of reaching the top 10 of the division led by Patricky Pitbull. The athlete had a sequence of two victories interrupted.

Khabib's student submits rival in lightning fashion

Student of the legendary Khabib Nurmagomedov, Akhmed Magomedov put on a show in his debut with the organization. A featherweight athlete, the Russian was not aware of Kai Kamaka III and won in a flash. Sharp on the ground, the fighter achieved victory in just over a minute, forcing his rival to give up with a rear-naked choke.

Former Brave representative, Magomedov continues without losing as a professional in MMA. The fighter reached the mark of nine victories in his career.

Representative of the welterweight division (under 77kg), Roman Faraldo once again made waves in the circular cage. Known for his knockout power, the fighter took no notice of the debutant Luis Iniguez and staged a run over in the first round.

In addition to the show at Bellator 283, Faraldo expanded his career phase. The 29-year-old athlete maintains his unbeaten record and has won eight consecutive victories, the fourth consecutive in the first round.

Massacred, Iniguez did not have the expected debut in the company. The hit suffered by Roman put an end to two consecutive victories for the fighter.

With the triumph, Bates defended his unbeaten career record. Now, the fighter has six positive results in a row, all of them for Bellator.

Outperformed in the event, Coates worked hard, but did not convince the majority of the judges. The athlete thus debuts with defeat in the company.

On the day he turned 27, Archie Colga gave himself a great gift. Bryan Nuro's opponent in the opening clash, the young man had no difficulties in his return to Bellator. After controlling his opponent for two rounds, the American won the triumph with a devastating knockout in the last round.
