Former UFC champion Dominick Cruz belittles his next rival: 'They don't care about him'

In preparation for facing Marlon Vera at UFC San Diego, the 'Dominador' taunted his opponent and said he is just 'trying to be heard' by the fans

Former UFC bantamweight champion (up to 61,2kg), Dominick Cruz has been provoked by his next opponent, the Ecuadorian Marlon Vera. However, the 'Dominator' said that he doesn't care about the words said by his rival and stated that he is just 'trying to appear'. The statement was given in an interview with 'The Schmo'. The two athletes will take part in the main fight of the UFC San Diego, scheduled for August 13th.

“When I look at (Marlon) Vera, all the things he says, I don't think he's really like that. He does, but he just wants to be heard. He's a guy who just wants people to listen to him because look what he did to Sean O'Malley and nobody says anything about him. Nobody cares that he won that fight. Vera is tired of being ignored because people don't care much about him. When he wins, nobody says anything. So I think he's just trying to be heard so he's saying anything he can, really angry. He has a lot of demons and must be dealing with that. I don’t know,” Cruz said.

Former owner of the belt, Dominick has been showing good results, despite being 37 years old. The 'Dominador' comes from two consecutive victories, over Casey kenney e Peter Munhoz, respectively. An MMA professional since 2005, Cruz has a record of 24 triumphs and three setbacks in the sport.
