Member of the top-5 in the heavyweight division (up to 120,2kg), Curtis blaydes responded in an unusual way when asked about a possible title fight, in case of victory in the UFC London. In an interview with 'MMA Fighting', the North American minimized a hypothetical fight for the title in his next fight, if he wins Tom aspinall, but emphasized that he faces difficulties naturally. The duel takes place next Saturday (23).

“Maybe it’s because I’m pessimistic, but I don’t expect it to be easy. I hope it's difficult. Anything worth having is going to be difficult. Getting a title shot is worth having, so I hope it's a long and difficult road, and this is part of that path,” said Curtis.

Asked about the 'courage' of going to London to face Tom aspinall, the North American said he didn't care about the location of the duel and stated that he is not one to refuse fights.

“I don’t think I’ve ever turned down a fight. If there is an opponent, I say ok. With the UFC, turning down fights is not a good idea. This starts to put you in a bad situation. It never crossed my mind. I don't mind. I just wanted a top-5 guy. I knew it had to be (Tom) Aspinall, (Ciryl) Gane or (Tai) Tuivasa, and I would have been happy with any of them. I would have gone to Australia to fight Tuivasa. I would have gone to France to fight Gane. It doesn’t matter,” Blaydes said.

Number four in the heavyweight rankings, Curtis is enjoying a good moment in the organization with six wins in his last seven fights. If you win Tom aspinall, the North American should be very close to fighting for the heavyweight belt. 'Razor' has a record of 16 triumphs and three setbacks as an MMA professional.
