Dominant champion of the flyweight division (up to 56,7kg), Valentina Shevchenko made it clear that he does not intend to move up to bantamweight (up to 61,2kg). In an interview with 'MMA Fighting', the 'Bullet' cited the changes that a category migration would cause to her body and said that she will continue to defend the throne that has belonged to her since 2018.

“To fight at 61kg now, I would have to build bigger muscles. I have to work to get bigger and then I would have to work to get smaller, for flyweight. I really don't see why I have to do this. Give me reasons, big fights or whatever. But what else? Right now, that's not going to happen. I think flyweight is my weight and where I’m going to make my next title defense”, said Valentina.
With seven belt defenses, 'Bullet' continues to 'destroy' rivals in the under-56,7kg category and, at the moment, has no possible rival who can face her. At 34 years old, the fighter from Kyrgyzstan has a record of 23 triumphs and three setbacks as an MMA professional. In her last fight, Valentina defeated the Brazilian Taila Santos in a controversial split decision by the judges.
