According to information from the website “Combate.com”, the event will be headlined by the lightweight belt dispute (up to 70,3 kg) between Charles of the Bronx e Islam makhachev will feature a duel between Brazilian strawweights (up to 52,1 kg) Marina Rodriguez e Amanda lemos. The clash could define the next challenger for the champion's belt Carla esparza.
Third place in the rankings and owner of a sequence of four victories in the strawweight division, Marina Rodriguez was one of the main candidates to fight for the belt in the category, but saw the UFC promise the fight to the former champion Weili Zhang after victory over Joanna Jedrzejczyk in June. With this, the 35-year-old from Rio Grande do Sul is looking for another triumph to finally qualify for the challenger position.
