Ultimate ends the 2013 season of events in Brazil in style. UFC Fight Night 32, an event that takes place tonight in Goiânia, marks the seventh show in the country this year and the organization's debut in the Central-West region. As the main attraction, the veterans Vitor belfort e Dan Henderson They step into the Octagon in a rematch the Brazilian has been waiting for for seven years.
The duel between Vitor and Hendo is a rematch of the fight held in the now defunct Pride, in 2006. On that occasion, the North American won the fight with a unanimous decision from the judges. But tonight's fight brings the athletes together at different times. Vitor, who has four wins in his last five fights, guarantees the chance to fight for the middleweight belt if he beats Hendo. He will face the winner of the rematch between Chris Weidman, champion, and Anderson Silva, challenging, in December.
Already for Dan Henderson, who would compete for the light heavyweight belt against Jon Jones, in 2012, but a short-notice injury took him out of the fight, the triumph represents recovery after two consecutive defeats. The former Pride champion was surpassed by Lyoto Machida e Rashad evans in a split decision, both of which were highly contested by him. Dan needs the triumph to prove he is far from retirement.
Mutante and Sarafian settle scores
In the second most important fight of the night, the fight between Cezar Mutant e Daniel sarafian. The duel, which was supposed to be the final of the first edition of TUF Brazil, did not happen in 2012 due to a serious injury to Sarafian's arm. Both are coming off triumphs and are looking to gain prominence in the UFC's middleweight division.
