After victory at UFC Long Island, Yair Rodriguez accepts Dana White's 'idea' for fighting Josh Emmett

Mexican, who had a 'bitter triumph' against Brian Ortega, gives a positive response to Dana White's comments about a possible new clash in the organization

The victory over Brian ortega No. UFC Long Island last Saturday (16) seems not to have been decisive for a chance of Yair Rodriguez to compete for the title against Alexander Volkanovsky. The Mexican, in a post-event interview, accepted Dana White's idea and revealed that he was interested in fighting against Josh Emmett in your next round.

“Wow, that looks good to me. I don't know how to react and I don't know what they intend to do. But I feel like doing anything they can propose to me now. I'm thinking about Volkanovski, but he's unavailable right now. So, it could be a good idea for the future,” said Rodriguez.

Despite being willing to go through with the fight, Yair had also said that he could give Ortega a rematch, as the American injured his right arm in the first round of the fight.

“It was an even fight. I was trying to cause harm. It's a shame he dislocated his shoulder. I already told him: we can face each other again. Whatever the UFC decides, I'm happy with it. (…) I wanted to win, not the way it was. All my respect to him and his family,” Rodriguez said into the microphone.
