Dana White was really excited about the main event of UFC Long Island, an event that took place last Saturday (16). In a post-event interview, the Ultimate leader lamented an injury to his shoulder. Brian ortega and did not rule out a second fight against Yair Rodriguez. He, however, is betting that the American will have to spend a period of inactivity to deal with his injury before returning to the octagon.

“That was s***. It's a difficult sport, these things happen. And everything was going well. We would have a big fight, you know? It's sad when this happens, but we can't do anything about it. He (Ortega) will probably need to undergo shoulder surgery now. I had surgery there and it was a nightmare. It takes a long time to recover. We’ll see what happens, but it’s great to know that both of them are thinking about rematches,” said Dana.

Ortega seemed to adopt a grappling game to overcome Rodriguez. After good strikes on both sides, the North American decided to take a risk with takedowns and, after managing to get on top, he didn't have time to work.

The North American saw the Mexican make a transition to an armbar and, while on defense, his right shoulder was injured. He did not continue in the fight and lost by technical knockout.
