Brazilian experiences drama in the octagon and loses by technical knockout in the second round of the preliminary card

Brazilian highlight on the preliminary card of the UFC Long Island, held this Saturday (16), Herbert Burns He went from heaven to hell in his return to MMA. Back in action after almost two years out due to injury, the Niteroi native had a good start to the clash against Bill Algeo, but ended up feeling a bruise on his knee. After trying to resist, the athlete was unable to continue in the dispute, being declared a technical knockout in the second round.

With the defeat, Burns' attempt to get back on the path to victory in Ultimate was frustrated. Now, the athlete has accumulated two consecutive stumbles.

In the second stage, Burns managed a takedown in the opening seconds, but ended up falling underneath. On top, Bill attacked again. Algeo got back to his feet, but Burns suffered an injury and was no longer able to continue in the fight.

In the fight that closed the preliminary card, a new fast-track outcome. Known for its knockout power, Puna Soriano made the reputation of the strength of his fists and ran over Dalcha Lungiambula. The triumph came after an eventful first round.

Opponent of Dwight Grant, the athlete entered the octagon under pressure for a positive result and managed to nullify his opponent's aggression. After superiority in most of the fight, the athlete was declared the winner in a unanimous decision by the judges.

With his triumph, Dustin ends a true nightmare. Before climbing into the Octagon UFC Long Island, the athlete suffered three consecutive defeats.

If on one side Stoltzfus smiles, the warning signal has been turned on for Grant. The stumble over the weekend meant that the fighter reached the mark of three fights without winning.

Rookie beats former challenger for strawweight belt

The fight that opened the event featured Emily ducote to UFC fans. Former Invicta FC champion, the 28-year-old fighter had a strategic performance and overcame the former challenger for the strawweight belt (up to 52,1kg), Jessica penne. After controlling her opponent for most of the match, the debutante was declared the winner in a unanimous decision by the judges.

With the victory, Ducote makes his debut in the organization on the right foot. The fighter, who had no scares during the fight, awaits her next challenge to continue her climb towards the top of the division led by Carla esparza.

Challenging for the strawweight title in 2015, Penne had a discreet presentation. At 39 years old, he stumbled again and saw a sequence of two victories come to an end.
