Thiago Marreta will train with Glover Teixeira in the United States

Thiago Marreta still waiting for a new opportunity to return to the Octagon. But until the proposal arrives, he will breathe new air to develop as an athlete. This Sunday (03), the former TUF Brasil 2 participant traveled to Coconut Creek, Florida, to train for 45 days at the American Top Team gym. There, he will train, among other beasts, with Glover Teixeira, next challenger of Jon Jones to the light heavyweight title.

The invitation to train abroad came from his manager Alex Davis, and Marreta will be accompanied during some of these days by his coach Otávio “Tatá” Duarte, leader of TFT. For the athlete, this time will not only serve to improve wrestling techniques, the main style of the American school, but also all martial arts.

“I want to learn everything in the United States. Of course, Americans know a lot more about wrestling, this is the martial art they learn from an early age, but I want to take knowledge in all areas, focus on everything I can to get as much out of them as possible,” he says.

It’s not just the fact of traveling and training abroad that excites Marreta. The carioca, resident of Cidade de Deus, is looking forward to sharing the mat with Glover Teixeira, one of the biggest names in national MMA. He hopes to return from the United States ready to fight in the Octagon again.

“I'm really excited, excited, eager to train with different people, in a different place. There's also Glover, who is one of my idols, and I'm sure I'll learn a lot from him. I'm going to come back ready to fight, at the beginning of the year I already want to be in action and I'm sure I'll come back more than ready to go to war and win as soon as I'm called upon”, he concluded.
