Right after defeating Max Holloway for the third time and defend the featherweight belt (up to 65,7 kg) in a dominant display in the co-main fight of the UFC 276, last Saturday (2), Alexander Volkanovsky was challenged by the former UFC bantamweight (up to 61,2 kg) and flyweight (up to 56,7 kg) champion Henry Cejudo.

In a press conference after the event, the featherweight champion spoke about the challenge and did not rule out the possibility of facing the former champion.

PUBLICITY:

“He said he wants to challenge me. He thinks he has what it takes. I need challenges, right? I need to be in big fights. If people scream for this fight, we'll see. I will never say never. Obviously he’s done great things, I think it would be a great fight, but I don’t even know what’s going on with him,” said Volkanovski.

After conquering and defending the bantamweight and flyweight belts, Henry Cejudo announced his retirement from MMA in 2020. Two years later, “Triple C” plans to return to the octagon and defined his main goal as becoming the first three-division champion in the history of Ultimate.

PUBLICITY:

“I respect the guy. He knows how to fight. Olympic wrestler, two-division champion. It's impressive. Let's see what happens. Now let’s wait and see”, concluded Volkanovski.
