The Brazilians' night at PFL 6 2022 didn't start well. In the first fight on the card, valid for the lightweight tournament (up to 70,3kg), the Tupiniquim Vanessa Mello was unable to show her skills and was defeated by the Ukrainian Olena Kolesnyk in a unanimous decision by the judges. The show took place at the Overtime Arena, in Atlanta, Georgia (USA).
With the defeat, Vanessa is eliminated from the lightweight tournament and now has 11 triumphs and nine setbacks in her professional career. With her place in the semi-finals confirmed, Ukrainian Olena Kolesnyk now has a record of 7 positive results and four negative results in the sport.
The fight
Kolesnyk started the fight with a high kick to Vanessa's waist. The Brazilian tried to shorten the attack but the Ukrainian used her kicks to keep her away. Kolesnkyk tried another high kick, but Vanessa caught her leg and knocked her down, leaving to stick and take the back. The Brazilian's opponent resisted and soon moved away from the position.
