Mousasi challenges Lyoto in the UFC: 'I want to make a splash in the middleweight division'

Armenian, who fought his last fights at light heavyweight, used his Twitter account to challenge the Brazilian

The age Lyoto Machida for the middleweights promises to shake up the category within the UFC. After debuting in the division with a knockout victory, against Mark Munoz, he revealed that he would like to return to the octagon in front of Vitor belfort. But another athlete is aiming for a possible fight against the Brazilian.

The Armenian Gegard Mousasi used his Twitter account to ask for a duel against Machida. “I want to make a splash in the middleweight division and face Lyoto Machida”, wrote the former Strikeforce champion on the microblog.

Mousasi only has one fight in the UFC, but in the light heavyweight division. In April 2013, Gegard defeated Ilir Latifi, at UFC on FUEL 9. Despite this, the Armenian has a long career in the middleweight division, including beating big names in the weight class such as the Brazilian Ronaldo Jacare.
