Lyoto Machida he needed just over three minutes to prove that he can do a lot of work in the middleweight division of Ultimate. After knocking out Mark Munoz, in the main fight of UFC Fight Night 30, the Brazilian is already thinking about higher flights within the show.
Although Lyoto stated, during the press conference, that he does not choose opponents, Dana White, president of the UFC, revealed that Machida intends to return to the octagon to face his compatriot Vitor belfort.
“He said he wants to fight Vitor belfort, that’s what he said”, said Dana White, who had Lyoto’s support. “That's right”, added the fighter.
The fight between Vitor and Lyoto has been discussed since Machida announced his move to the middleweight division. However, the fight did not leave speculation. Lyoto went so far as to say that Belfort refused the duel, however, the 'Phenomenon' assured that the clash was never offered to him.
