Brazilian landed a powerful blow on his rival to win the main fight of UFC Fight Night 30

With a powerful high kick applied with his left leg, the Brazilian managed to knock out Mark Munoz in the first round and score his 20th career victory. The duel was the main attraction of UFC Fight Night 30, an event held this Saturday (26), in Manchester, England.

The Brazilian tried to apply two powerful kicks to Munoz's waistline, who was looking for space to attack Machida's legs to get the takedown.

Struggling to put together his counterattack game, Machida ended the contest in a sensational way. With a powerful left kick, which hit the side of Munoz's head, the Brazilian knocked his rival down. Lyoto still went for the ground attack, but as his rival was already knocked out, he did not hit the athlete of Filipino descent on the ground.

Fight between Pearson and Guillard ends without result

The second most important fight of the night ended in controversy. The duel between lightweights Ross Pearson and Melvin Guillard was a balanced duel, but an accident ended the contest before a winner was known.

After an exchange of blows, Melvin pressed Ross against the cage, but landed two knees on the English athlete's face when he had his hand and knee on the ground, which is considered an illegal “three-point” strike.

The movement opened a cut on Pearson's face and the judge stopped the fight immediately and the doctor ruled that the athlete was in no condition to continue the fight. As the central referee understood that the illegal knee was unintentional, he declared the No Contest (no results).
