The boss sent word. Present in UFC 276, which takes place this Saturday (2), Dana White will be keeping an eye on the presentation of Alex Poatán against Sean Strickland. Interested in the clash, the boss admitted that the Brazilian could become the challenger for the middleweight belt (up to 83,9kg), if he overcomes the 'bad boy' North American. The interest is that Tupiniquim revives with Israel adesanya the rivalry from the kickboxing days.

“Just like Adesanya, both guys came from GLORY Kickboxing. Pereira (Poatan) is a former double champion, in the middleweight and light heavyweight divisions. He defeated Israel adesanya on two occasions. In the UFC, (Alex) has two positive results so far. He will face the dangerous Strickland and it should be an incredible fight. If he wins, it makes sense for him to face Adesanya”, admitted the agent.

In addition to Poatan's performance, White must also worry about the main fight of the show. In the last fight on the card, Adesanya will put his middleweight belt on the line against Jared Cannonier. To make White's wish come true, the Nigerian needs to get past the next title challenger.

At 34 years old, Alex is heading towards his seventh commitment in professional MMA. Kickboxing legend, the São Paulo native today has five triumphs and one stumble in the 'new modality'.
