Bantamweight champion (up to 62,1kg.), Julianna Pena gave his opinion on the recent fight between Valentina Shevchenko e Taila Santos. In an interview with 'The Schmo', the North American believes that the challenger has done enough to leave with 'arms raised', despite a serious fracture in her eye against the Kyrgyz. The Brazilian, however, ended up being defeated in a split decision by the judges, in a duel that took place at UFC 275.
“I scored a victory for Taila (Santos). She hit (the Valentina Shevchenko) with one eye and still lost. It was horrible,” said Peña.

Still in the interview, Peña, who focuses on preparing for the rematch against Amanda nunes No. UFC 277, revealed that he has plans for a rematch against Valentina. The two fighters met in January 2017, when the Kyrgyz submitted her with an armbar.
“I know Valentina and I also have some unfinished business that I would like to resolve with a rematch and fight one more time, too. I thought Taila had done enough to win and I was disappointed that she didn't win,” she concluded.
Shevchenko's toughest opponent at flyweight, Taila made history by becoming the first athlete to pose real danger to the champion. After five even rounds, Valentina was declared the winner in a split decision by the judges. The Brazilian suffered a fractured orbital bone after a clash of heads in the fourth round.
