At the helm of the UFC for more than 20 years, Dana White has never hidden his admiration for Conor McGregor. Even with the athlete out of action, due to a serious injury suffered in 2021, the boss once again surrendered to the combatant, reinforcing the former double champion's desire to return to compete in the octagon. The praise for the 'hunger' of the 'Notório' was made in an interview with 'The Jim Rome Show'.

“When I talk to Conor, he says he wants to fight. He receives all kinds of offers for appearances in films and many other things that would make him money. He doesn't want to do any of that. He wants to fight,” White said.

Mixed martial arts legend, McGregor has not performed since the trilogy against Dustin poirier, in July 2021. On that occasion, the Irishman ended up suffering a fracture in his left ankle and was defeated by technical knockout.

After undergoing surgery, Conor began the long recovery process. Willing to see his pupil in the octagon, White suggested when the athlete can be seen in action.

“He will return to the octagon. Conor wants to return at the end of this year or the beginning of 2023,” he concluded.

Currently, McGregor occupies 12th place in the lightweight rankings (up to 70,3kg). In the category, the athlete has not won a clash since 2016, when he won the title over Eddie Alvarez.
